Hi, I currently have an 06 Mini Cooper S JCW, which is a great car but I have a real itch for a RS Megane! The MINI is a factory JCW with lsd and I have put coilovers on it too. It's a really good drivers cars and the supercharger whine really adds character, as does the pops and bangs on overrun! My previous car was a 182 Trophy and I absolutely loved it! I would have to say that I would rather have the Mini as a daily because it is has a much better interior and is almost as much fun to drive - but the Trophy was the better car to just go for a blast in! I was thinking of adding a bvh and cam, injectors, tune to the Mini - but I would rather put the money towards a megane. Has anyone here went from a Mini JCW or similar to a R26 or 250 etc and what are your thoughts?
Big Pete on here sold his Mini the same week as he drove my 225, i had a cooper S in 2005 bought it new, the wife drove it mainly but i thought it was awful, never felt like all 4 wheels were connected to the chassis, never tracked it, i didn't like it on the road, sold it after a year.
lol just read that Wellcome mate Sell the mini , buy a Megane you will love it, it's a proper drivers car. I would say when I was looking I drove 4 r26 cars and they were all completely different, in the way they drove , the one I have bought is superb , i have spent £1500 in the first 2 weeks of ownership lol
I had a tuned R53 before my 275. LSD, coils and 227hp the whole deal. The 275 is just a better car. Bigger, faster, more reliable and for me the most important point: track ready. You'll miss the whine a bit and ofcourse the whole community around MINI [emoji6] It's a step up on the ladder and you wont regret it [emoji6]
I'm going to get the for sale advert done for the MINI! So when its sold I'll be on the lookout for a tidy R26 or 250! If anyone is thinking of selling in the near future then get in touch with me. I'd be looking for something in very good condition that has been well maintained. I'm not worried if it has been modified, providing its been done right. Here's hoping 2017 will be the year of the RS Megane for me !
