275 Michelin Pilot Supersport Tyres

  1. Possible, but for a road tyre I prefer a standard spec size tyre. Makes it more insurance friendly.

  2. Well 235 is OEM. So 225 or 245 would be non OEM I assume? That may be Wrong. I have a sticker on my inner door with tyre info I'll check later on!

  4. 235/40/18 95Y on tyreleader.com

They aren't a ZR rated tyre but are 95Y which should equate to them being XL

  6. These are for your load index and speed ratings.

ZR indicates the tyre can withstand speeds in-excess of 149mph.
An R rated tyre will be more than ok for the Megane though.
I would recommend a ZR rated tyre if you have the choice.

95Y is the load each tyre can handle. The rating on this particular MPSS being 690kg (95Y) which is fine for the Megane.

XL is extra load. This means the side-walls of the tyre are slightly stiffer than that of a non-XL tyre.
The MPSS in 235/40/R18 with a rating of 95Y is the maximum load rating for this size so will naturally be an XL rated tyre.

These particular MPSS will be fine for the Megane in my opinion.

  7. "R" in the name means radial tyre (the wire inside the tyre that stifens it)
