The standard shocker catchs if you spin it hard enough, the flex in the lower arms is shit! What space you reckon? 5mm?
#tinfoilarms FFS 5mm would work, but ideally I want hub-centric spacers, that would mean running 10mm minimum... I am so indecisive!
I insured and taxed the Megane for tomorrow. I sold the Polo runaround I bought for winter for a small profit less than 24 hours after I put the advert up for the full asking price. So I got her ready for tomorrow. First stop, tyre place. Second stop, Shell for a full tank of their finest. So excited!
my ast catch the same on full lock but to be fare it could be the pilot super sports with the big rim protector , my origanel set of ast must of had the same problem as the car came with 5mm spacers on and they were from halfords gray, they were fine so I may get another pair, and they were on with the OEM wheel bolts, I might get my neighbour to knock me a pair up in 3mm thickness
I am running Michelin PS3 in 225 width and they rub I've got a set of 4 x 5mm spacers, £39 on eBay. I am going to run those and convert to stud and nuts.
So, What i've seen of the tyres so far im impressed even today in the cold and damp conditions. The brake issue is still there, where it judders at low speed. I think its an ABS sensor problem, which if it is costs about £45 so not too bad. The button on the drivers side to lock the door has stopped working whilst it's been kept in the garage too but thats an easy fix and only about £15. I still have the track rods and ends, steering rack bush, some headlight washer blanks and new mirror caps i'm going to colour code to fit as well as wanting it serviced so might give Mark Black a call to see if he can sort it and have a look at the brake stuff whilst its there.
Sorted something thats annoyed me for the 2 1/2 years i've had the car thanks to Losi! God knows how many rings the previous owner used to wear, my guess would be alot...
Right a few updates... MOT time came and it failed on excessive play in the O/S Track Rod End, so I got the garage to replace both Inner Tie Rods and Track Rod Ends with the parts I got from Adam ages ago. Sorted for another year now. Next up was to change the pollen filter. Boring but needed doing. Then I decided I wanted to freshen the car up a little bit. I decided to get some washer jet blanks for the front to get rid of the annoying washers that spray all over the car. They were sprayed up and fitted. Next up was the interior. Door grab handles and glovebox trim have been painted. I still need to spray the centre console but you can see how bad all the plastic was in comparison to the painted parts. They're not painted perfectly but they're loads better than they were. I'll probably redo them again when I get some spare time and the weather is nice. Other than that i'm pretty happy with the car. If it carries on behaving I might treat it to some braided lines and an intercooler.
Today it's had an oil and filter change... And I quickly sprayed the centre console. Not perfect but loads better than it was...
