I bought it new in 2008 and kept it until around 2010 i then sold it to a fella who later traded it into somewhere in london for an audi tts. I loved that car and always kept my eye out for it as i would have bought it back. It was on ebay a few years ago but missed it at the time.

Big end I think, possibly a bent rod but most likely big end. Engine was making very unpleasant sounds. never killed one on track before. Gutted, it was flying along too. Just not worht refitting a new engine or forging.
