Megane "mugs" M3 E92 driver who drives a 7.30sec car..... maybe he's an 8.30sec driver..... Safe driving
Lol that's the spirit! I like watching these vids - thanks for sharing No reason why the M should be so much quicker with same driver and same tyres imho.
Put the same mods on the M3 as the OP has on his Megane and your looking at low 7s. Not taking away from the OP though , cracking lap as per usual
I was just wondering what had been done to the Megane? Also how it copes with consumables doing all the track miles? Also, sorry, does the op live near the 'ring?
Like I mention the M3 is a fully stripped and tuned RAEDER Motorsport / (MANTHEY RACING) prepared machine......I'm just in my Megane so with a 7.30sec driver this M3 would walk away from me......just look at the acceleration and LISTEN to that gearchange!!
Hi, Thanks for the positive comment and for liking the videos.....I do them just to share with Forum members for fun.
Hi, Lucky me I do live at the Ring...consumables are not TOO bad. BRAKES| - ENDLESS Endurance pads are expensive but installed on standard discs and calipers and do hold up well. TYRES - FEDERAL FZ-201 (Medium compound) will last 80+ laps on the front and rear-to-front best I have had was 113 laps. FUEL - Don't ask!!!! LAPS - Year card paid up front unlimited laps on Nordschleife and G.P Circuit. SERVICE - Increased oil changes but on the same schedule. Hope that answers your questions Cheers
Thanks for the info Living at the 'ring, life must be good and no wonder you're so quick! Is it basically standard other than tyres and brakes? Remember whe the FZ-201 first came out - it was half the price as it is now. Not many people use them here, how do you find they compare to r888's etc? I was there a few weeks ago in a 25 year old Datsun rust bucket... Hit a real 150 mph at one point and absolutely crapped myself... I think you have to drive the track to understand how fast any circa 8 min lap is. Respect
So far, so good....fingers crossed. All my Renaults (2x R26's and this Mk3) have been VERY reliable and all of them enjoyed a lot of track work. I suppose it's also a reflection of getting them set up properly by a reputable company who know what you are going to be doing and then paying attention to service items. See my YouTube channel at RS250MAN for videos from all the cars.
Good to hear. Yup, seen the YouTube channel - like it! A strange one but what does your oil temp display? - I couldn't believe how cool mine stayed on track reaching a maximum of about 105 degrees. Experience tells me this is low for a stock road car so am wondering how accurate it is?
Mine also stays bang on.....it's a well engineered car and I also have a stock radiator and intercooler....
Mine was seeing around 115/120 up Kesselchen, Hybrid turbo and a few other parts thiugh Inc a larger Fmic which definitely effects oil Temps, I'm looking at adding an oil cooler to help this
They ain't that pricey. Not sure on this year's JK but you were looking at 75 laps or so in previous years to break even. Pretty easy to so that amount of laps if you spend a lot of time there, I done 25 laps in a weekend but could of got another 10 or so in quite easily if I wanted to
Just pads and tyres against a race prepped E92 with over 400hp - that's amazing, really impressive If the M3 had the same mods as the Megane he wouldn't have seen which way you went!
