Cheers for all the great comments. Engine going to need a rebuild unfortunatly due to timing but who said a project car was going to be simple. The way it drove was stunning, loads of power on tap but cruised along so well. The CC suits that engine like you would not believe. If only they made it, would have saved so much time and money. haha
Car is up and running after almost a year! Il get some better photos over the weekend. Its driving really well despite a few niggles here and there. Getting some look driving it, looks mental compared to a normal CC.
Needs a run out across the moors Stiggy so we can see it in action, you'll have no problem passing those coaches over the moors roads now
Too right Jonny! Getting paintwork sorted next week then come summer I should be bringing it out. Least il keep in your mirror this time.
Some little updates. Been far to busy with the business to complete any major work on the meg. These little additions sure do make a difference. Some more samco hoses to complete the set and some conduit case, just need to tidy it up with some electrical tape. Some more silicone hoses Even the bits you don't see. I like yellow
Another photo. Need to get the caps painted yellow again as they got battered during the conversion. Then next up is an air box, just need to decide if I go ITG or some custom set up.
No it's probably not everyone's cup of tea but as enthusiasts I think we can all appreciate the time, effort and money that's gone into it.
Well said. At the end of the day you build it for yourself, not others. Its a top job with lots of time and money spent on it and it should be appreciated for what it is. Well done
Very nice work! I don't know why Renault didn't make these as standard, they probably would have been very popular.
Thanks for all the comments. It is a shame they didn't just make this car but it's not Renaultsport style, they are track focused. This is surprisingly good handling tho, by far the best handling 4 seater convertible I have ever driven. Anyway I haven't posted any photos in a while. Some photos after the bumpers both got repainted. Had the parking sensors smoothed out and have fitted a camera instead.
A little update. Had the exhaust made. Asked for the biggest tips we could fit and I think it works well as the back of the car is huge. Underneath, ignore the paint missing from the freshly painted bumper. Getting touched back up. The next things that were on the cards was a Decat and bigger injectors but now its ended up in the garage with a BROKEN DIFF!!!!!! Getting rebuilt and fitting a Quaife next week. Gutted I have now managed to have engine and gearbox failure on seperate occasions.
Cheers exhaust sounds lovely too. Just a decat to be fitted now. Not sure what's happened, in the garage now being looked at. Soon as the shafts are striped down I will know if I have to order a diff. Hoping not but extremely likely
Looks like good news for the car. The driveshaft had collapsed so not the diff at all. Going to be ready next week once I get a new shaft from Renault(back order) just getting a new set of tyres, new Godspeed discs and pads and it's ready to go.
Just read this the whole way through after searching for a new splitter idea. Massive congrats with this project! spot on!
Cheers for the comments guys. Car is having a little bit more work done as we speak. An active exhaust and some aero mods too Will post updates asap
Hello a Stiggy Please can you tell me which exhaust centre you used for your custom made exhaust. I have almost completed my car transformation. From a Megane cc convertible 2.0T 16v 165bhp to a 260bhp.
