  1. The new 265 has the R-Link option, which also has the controls by the handbrake, but does anyone know if the screen is touch screen?

  2. Yes the screen is touchscreen mate

  3. yup touch screen.
    need long arms though.
It is also voice controlled for some features. (media, sat nav, extras, etc).
    cheers Andy

  4. thanks guys, just wondering why they kept the controls by the gear lever too, specially if its touch screen?

  5. In case you have short arms ha ha? Yes quite agree.

I notice though that the controls by gear lever have many more functions than previous controller.
    However
As technically/legally you are not supposed to operate it whilst driving it is impossible for me to do so without moving seat. So on occasions I have poked the menu or favourites menu and dialled a number or picked a location then pressed the control button all without looking down.
It is all 100% beeter than a £50 k Audi I used for 3 months

    Cheers Andy

  7. Thanks Andy. Is there any particular way to identify the R-Link screen from the normal tomtom screen? The first tomtom screens are easily noticeable, but I believe the second edition they added the gloss black trim with the chrome horizontal trim which looks very similar to the R-Link screen. But if i'm not mistaken, the R-Link screen doesnt have the SD Card for the maps on the side, is that correct? anyone have a good close-up pic of the R-Link screen?

    Here we go.
You are quite correct the latest is gloss black and chrome bar to rest hands/fingers on when inputting data. The SD card is now located under OBD socket panel by Media input plug in front of mini cup holder/ashtray cup.

    Cheers Andy
