If your going to strip it to put rods in then in reality it's best to do the job properly, i am sorting one out atm, i have a set of Catcam rods waiting to go into mine, i will see if they will fit standard pistons at the weekend. You must also consider fitting different valves, the standard ones are a serious weak point as well. I have an adapter that i bought from the USA, i'm going down a slightly different route with mine, so not required for mine any more.
