megane 250 sound system

  1. When i went to test the megane i had already read about the sound system being poor..

From a search on here i gather the headunit is the biggest limiting factor, with the bass response from the speakers being next?

Has anyone just changed the head unit and added a sub to cope with the LF or do the door speakers really need to be changed as well?

    thanks for your help

  2. I simply added a flat 'under the seat' style sub in the boot, wired into the speakers, still retained the std headunit.

whilst not groundbreaking it was 100x better as the speakers are so small they couldnt handle the bass and can now cope alot better with normal music at a louder volume

  3. Cheers Matty, I wanted to keep all the steering controls etc so was thinking along the same lines. Have you considered upgrading the door speakers too?

  4. Im pretty happy with it to be honest. It does 90% of what i want it to (ive got the arkamys upgrade too btw) so ill save any further hassle/money because im happy with it now how it is

  5. Ok cool, mine doesn't have the sound upgrade... Is it just better speakers or is there a different hu too?

  6. Just better speakers and extra tweeters in the rear. Some extra software but all gimmicky in my view

  7. Megane mk3 sound system is awful. Even Arkamys. I got quote for £270 for changing front speakers and tweeters with sound deading material. I will go for it, but first I must sort out issue with windows seal.
