Good evening everyone. When I purchased my Megane I was given two keys. I put one on my key ring and the other in a drawer. The other day I was taking my car to the garage for a service and thought I would give them the spare key to use. Unfortunately i tried opening the door with the key and it did not work. I have replaced the battery with a brand new one and still no luck. Is there any process I have to go through to reset the key card? Any ideas as to why it doesn't work? My other key I use works fine. Many thanks for the help
Tried using it to start the car??? I had issues with mine not opening on the spare, managed to start it by putting the key in the slot and going for a drive. Came back and it worked fine. Mine are keyless just so you know. Hope that helps?
The key should charge in the slot. This should help for the starting or the hands free opening as wickett11 said. But the buttons should work off the battery u have replaced.
Is there not something about changing them within 2 hours in the manual? I may have dreamt it. If it's been in a drawer and the battery has drained completely flat, this could be the cause of your problem perhaps.
Thank you for the suggestions. This morning on my way to work I took both keys with me. I put the card that doesn't work in the slot and the mirrors didn't pop out (which wasn't a good start). I then pressed the start button and the car started but I guess this was because the key that works was in my pocket. When I got to work I tried locking the car with the broken key and still no success. I think it's going to be a trip to Renault to get it fixed.
