Ignore Jamie It looks amazing, attracts a lot of attention and questions that are usually answered with 'no it's not sequential' and feels great to change gear. It's the most precise and solid gear change you'll find on a car. Does it actually offer any real improvement to the speed etc of changing gear...nope.
Haha, Aye cause its not as if I've had mine for well over a year and done 40k and several trackdays with it Shiny piece of shininess. Ah damn, I spoke to a company that may be able to do them in FRP/Kevlar/CF but its just finding the time to get down and let them get some moulds.
I've had a CAE fitted to mine, does nothing apart from look and feel great, gives the car a nicer feel. Agree its expensive but i love it! your car looks great by the way Mark, good write up.
It's got to be better than the sloppy standard gear change on my R26.....plus it definitely looks the part Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Evening mate, what's the damage on a CAE if you don't mind me asking? Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
Ahhh thanks. I have seen those in some cars. Looks good compared to the plastic I have. Mine has a shortshifter apparently so good enough for me
Thanks Sunny, more to follow I hope. Want to add a bit more lightness but as Jamie says, composite panels are hard to find.
source a shortshift if you can..best cost effective mod you can do for the meganesport mk2..utterly transforms the horrible, vague standard shift.
Yeah I was tempted to carry out the modification myself following the guide on here Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mine changes great. Drove a megane without the mod and it was awful. Gear change is good and worth the money I would say...mine was already done when I got the car
looking good mate.. what OZ wheels are they? ultraleggera? What size and guessing no spacers needed? Thanks
Looks awesome. And like you say why not? Sometimes parts just look damn cool and that's a good enough reason to fit them in my book[emoji1305] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The Recaros look great. I have a few questions if you don't mind. Where did you get them and how much were they for the pair? What sub frame / side mounts do you use and are they positioned as low / lower than standard? I am tall and could maybe do with mine even a tad lower than standard. Also are they reasonably upright once positioned as I like to have my OEM Recaros pretty upright. Thank you! [emoji1598] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ah man... wish I had seen this thread sooner. You've got a similar car to mine, albeit a lot slower as it's black and not oyster grey ;-) Where are you based? I'm in Surrey... sounds like you may be somewhere nearby?
Have you got any pictures of what the vents look like underneath? I'm trying to get an idea of where they sit relative to everything under there in terms of the washer hoses etc.
Hey MK2, just a quickie to say I've sold my Megane.....!!! I've hardly used her in the last few months and it's just a shame to see her gathering tree sap and bird poop when somebody can make more use of her. Anyway I've scratched the Megane itch now and it's time for something else, although it won't be for some time. Good luck with the car and life, it's been a pleasure! Signing off.
