Guys, Ok next weekend I am replacing my wheels, suspension and brake set-up (inc. calipers) for better condition parts off newer model Megane's. I am just wondering if you could give me any advice at all (since I'm replacing myself) anything I might need in terms of special tools or grease/lube?? Or if there are any other smaller components that maybe worth changing in the process while the bits are off the car. So far I have replaced the following steering/suspension parts; Suspension Top Mounts Steering Rack Steering Arms/Track Rods Steernig Track Rod Ends Anti Roll Bar Links I was thinking maybe to get a set of Mr Pinks Brembo Pins for the calipers . . . would it be worth fitting these to the rear as well / or they only fit the front Brembo's? See I'm gonna need all the help I can get! Cheers, Rich
pins are only needed on the front wishbone bushes (poly bushes) balljoints wheel bearings hub bearings
rear calipers don't have caliper pins mate so thats one less thing to buy There are also Drop Links / Anti Twist links that can be renewed - see here for best prices - http://rsmegane.com/threads/oem-equivalent-suspension-and-steering-components-links-inside.3877/ You'll need copper grease or equivalent for brake pads - otherwise should be ok, possibly brake fluid
Get some of the hub bearing grease bolts off @matt e and grease up your bearings for an easy bit of preventative maintenance
Cool thanks soo much for your help guys . . . So I know about the wishbone bushes and ball joints as I've looked into this before. Just to clarify the wheel bearings are attached to the disc at the back so we're only talking front wheel bearings and front swivel hub bearings?
