  1. Hello everyone.

I was looking at the newspaper the other day and came across an interesting article. The Scotland coastal route, the answer to route 66.

    http://www.northcoast500.com/home.aspx

I wanted to see how much interest there would be from here to see if we could create a Renault convoy to go around.

Realistically this would take place between June and August next year as I think we have missed this summer.

If you are interested do let me know below and once I see there is interest then maybe I can create a little committee and get this properly organised.

  2. This might attract some of the Scottish boys, but to reach further South,it would probably need to be a couple of days, with a overnight Hotel?.

  3. I think this refers to the article in the Mail today.( Scotlands route 66 ) From Inverness,up the West coast, along the top,and down the East coast, back to Inverness. Around 500 miles, some of the best scenery in the world. This would have to be more like a Holiday than a meet.

  4. Count me in

Bit of camping etc would be epic.

  5. I'm definitely up for this one!

  6. I did some of these routes recently on my motorbike, really great roads!

  7. Sounds good to me! Get as many megane sports cruising around together. Would look trick!

  8. maybe over a weekend or over a long weekend.... Lets look at all options (camping, hotels or b and b`s), some young at heart might want to camp while others might want a bed. I have had a holiday there in the past and prices are usually very reasonable plus as a group we might get good deals.

  9. Search ... Scotland North Coast 500.....Website for details.

  10. This last April I did some of that route in the Trophy, as well as Skye. If you're coming from any distance South (Lancs in my case), it will be a huge amount of driving.

We're spoiled down here in terms of getting places quickly with the motorway network and what not. 500 miles on that route will take a long time:tongueout:

  11. from where i live in cumbria it would work out pretty much 1000miles, anyone coming from england or wales would need 3 days minimum (probably 4 if you want to enjoy and not rush arround). it would make an awesome roadtrip something id deffinetly be interested in doing.

  12. Im interested

I'm up for this, it looks epic. Please avoid the Le Mans and Glastonbury weekends in June though, weekend of the 18th for Le Mans and 25th for Glastonbury.

  14. Probably quite easy to organise. Decide on Hotel/Hotels, Deposit for hotel, paid directly to hotel.work out Itinerary. That would make sure that no one was out of pocket, except hotel,in case of pulling out at last minute. It is a long way, from down South, but i will be going to Lincolnshire for a few days ( From N/E scotland),then on to Oulton Park, then Anglesea, and then to Margate, then back to Thurso, so probably a couple of thousand miles,so for me,distances don't matter.

  15. I havent had a chance to look at it closer but in the coming month I should get a second and announce a few proposals.
