You'd get change from £3k but I'm not sure how much, that's based on me having similar work done recently with a few extras but no gear box. What's the need to change the box for?
I have a slight whine when foot is on acclerator in 5th and 6th. I also struggled to downchange from 3rd to 2nd on track. A specialist said it sounded like the main bearings or something?
Will be bearings, quite a common issue on the boxes thanks to Renault sticking a van box in them [emoji23] I had almost the same work done to mine last year by a RS specialist here, IIRC it didn't cost me more than 1.5k but I've used them for years and spent a small fortune with them so it probably isn't representative of true cost
Im going ahead with it. £1650 Inc VAT for the whole of that last, think they're swapping my aircon pump and changing rear pads too but not sure how much that will be
^ yep very cheap, would have expected the parts alone to not be far off that. Don't forget to consider changing the DMF, they took mine out at 42k and said it had a fair bit of play in it.
All done, picked up £1680, had aircon pump changed and regassed too! Faultless Serivce from floyd and lisa at RS four ashes in wolverhampton definitley recommend! Floyd the mechanic said on test drive, when ESC Off with sport mode on (RS Tuning 300bhp map on button) is on he said it was almost slipping but having done 200 miles it seems okay with no issues as of yet but not given it a beating until ive properly bedded it in
