Hello, I have been here for about 2 weeks now so thought I would start my progress threat, covering my plans, history and other such stuff! So where have I come from. Essentially I started at 17 with a purple Nissan Micra which was the first car I used. 998cc with 40hp made for quite an exciting drive. I then moved onto a Fiesta Endura Diesel 1.8 turdbox. (again in purple - again not my choice) Well, that got scrapped after miserably failing it's MOT... Here is a pic of it at the scrappers after being picked up by the crane! I then went back to the Micra which was given to me by my parents after the birth of my little boy. I decided I needed to modify it at that point so gave it an over sized air filter which made it sound very funny. Lots of giggles to be had. (note the cold air feed also) It also had a window done at some point by some scrote. Again being the master of cars I fixed this little issue with a 5 door window in a 3 door car. You can imagine how that worked out. Well eventually as predicted, that failed it's MOT also so it went to the scrappers last month. I then went out having done some research and brought this little bad boy! This was chosen mostly with my son in mind. I decided that now he is one, his favourite colour will be liquid yellow and obviously I chose this specific model with safety in mind. It stops very quickly which is very important. My plans for this car aren't great to be honest. I don't want to change much of it. It currently has a lightened flywheel, 2 stage throttle, Milteks and a remap and is plenty quick enough for me! So this is my progress thread which will mostly consist of cleaning and the odd little change! Anyways, a week after I bought it my Son decided that he would start saying car! so all in all I would say success.
Thanks ☺️ I'll do some pics and show you the bit's I've done thus far. Of course I've gotta think about him now. Can't have a toy myself these days with him to care for... The joys of being a parent...
Ha ha your excuses to the wife sound very similar to mine, 5 star ncap, good breaks etc!! Just thinking about the little fella.
Well these things are important. The only car available to view was the R26. Autotrader has slim pickings these days!
So I painted some wheel nuts the other day as they were looking a little shabby. They turned out ok considering I will be changing them over at some point! I have ordered some EBC brake pads also to upgrade mine as they were getting a little worn. I also went on a photo shoot night and took some snaps which will follow in due course!
Thanks, I called it a lateral air hole mod. All details on how to complete are on the RSMICRA.COM forum...
Thanks mate. Clearly a legit use of the fogs when the old bill ask! It's a tidy car needs a bit of work but it came with good history and a ton of other paperwork ☺️
So I did the pads! Couldn't do the disks as one of the torx bolts rounded! Couldn't even move it with a welded spanner! But today I dod stick these in ☺️
Every day of the week mate! The bulbs are great. I haven't checked what my full beam is yet as they are decent too. They don't come out as chav brilliant blue/white either so thats a plus for me!
So recently I noticed that the indicator seems to go double speed under breaking so I checked the bulbs all fine. Ended up taking the rear apart and giving the earth a rub down which seems to have worked! Also de misted the rear cluster on the other side!
Bought these today to replace the door speakers as one sounded a bit blown. I couldn't see any damage but no harm in upgrading. I will probably soundproof a bit so they don't vibrate through the door skin too much! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So a quick update! I got some spare seats when the horrifying moment my Son spews on them (young Kids are the best) many thanks to David H for that. I also ordered this online off ebay for the pain in the backside things I can't figure out myself! It's a really good set of manuals and well put together and I'd recommend it to anyone who's a bit unsure! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Today I have swapped some of these little buggers out behind the lights and in the engine bay! Bloody things are rubbish Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So I got some vibe speakers in the end and put them in over the past couple of days! The plastic required a small amount of cutting and shaping. The hardest part was figuring out the colours in the wires for positive and negative! Essentially I wanted better sound quality but wanted it all to look standard! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So today I have changed the injectors! Car no longer coughs which is great and it idles alot better! Under load in 5th and 6th at low RPM It does skip a beat now and again so I will do the coils too at some point! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Exhaust hanger has been swapped as the other one broke and I had cable ties holding it up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MOT day today! All good except a cv boot clip which was on the front drivers side hub! All fixed and passed [emoji5] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
