Loose bonnet on 250 model

Discussion in 'Exterior & Bodywork' started by James and his 250, Jul 28, 2014.

  1. Good afternoon all,

Is the bonnet suposed to be a bit bouncy(there is a bit of play) rather than fixed and unmovable on the megane 250?
The bonnet may not be locking fully?

Mine does it, Done 160+ on GPS last year and it didn't come off, Along with cositantly going 140 at Spa in October, Just lifts slightly as can be seen in my photos from Eau Rouge and Radillion

  3. If this is how they are designed then fair enough, I just wondered if it was supposed to be like it. Has yours always been like it since you bought it? Thanks

  4. The 250 the next clio :tongueout:......

    BECAUSE THE 250 IS EPIC!!

  6. So can I confirm that the bonnet is meant to have a bit of play in it?

  7. im afraid i have no play whatsoever.. solid.

  8. Mine is solid. I assume you mean pushing down on the bonnet (when shut) yours bounces a bit? Mine doesnt move at all

  9. Solid. No plays at all.

  10. Right OK thanks guys

  12. Yes thats exactally what I meant, also when you release the catch from the footwell should the bonnet auto open or just release, for you to then open it at the front?

  13. it just releases the lock on the bonnet catch at the front. You then work the catch yourself

Mine is solid as well when static, I assume the air lifts it when going at speed

  15. Didn't notice it driving but when inspecting the car the bonnet felt as though it should be clicking down a little bit further. Panels all lined up so I'm pretty sure it's not crash damage, just a dodgy clip hopefully
