As it says in the title, I am going to look at a megane 225 next weekend. I will put the link up here if anyone has an info whether it's a good price or whether to stay clear? It all seems good, cam belt done, f/s/h, lowish miles, body work looks to be good. Anything I should check when I see it and test drive it? Thanks for your help. you can get them cheaper. I rushed out in January and bought one and in hindsight I wished I'd waited for a better one. On the faceboook megane sites theres a few good ones for sale as well as on here
Do yourself a big favour wait until you can spend more cash on the right car. Try and get one with less mileage. Don't rush your purchase.
When I first bought mine 3 years ago I was only 19, I didn't have a clue what to look for on these cars but the colour was awesome, book was stamped, low mileage and just a tidy car! All of the above accounted for jack diddly once I drove it away. I spent a year repairing it but now I wouldn't change it and I know it inside out and exactly where I stand with it. All I'm saying is if you do drop on a bit of a bad one it isn't the end of the world. There's plenty of knowledge and they're becoming increasingly popular in scrap yards so major components aren't hard to find. Most expensive thing about these is renewables because you need good brakes, tyres and fluids etc but this comes at a price.
