Locking off rack prior to inner track rod removal

  1. Anyone lock or counter hold the rack whilst loosening the inner track rods?

Or do you just get on with it?

    I'm usin this:

  2. Been a faff tbh with that tool.
Got into a offers war. Then it arrived, despite being 27-42mm it turned out to be 35-42mm which wouldn't close enough so I've not w got the 27-42mm but haven't tried it yet.

    Will that other one tighten?

  3. The one I've shown? Yes it will mate we had the same style on at stratstone when I worked there. The one I have has 3 different ends for different sizes

  4. Which stratstone?
Use to know a few guys at Wilmslow.

  5. It was a volvo dealer in Burton on Trent, since changed hands now and are now a vw dealer.

Safe to say the worst company ive worked for lol

  6. Well you were right (kinda)

    It came off:

It went back on and gripped ok for a initial tightening. Then when I went to torque it I couldn't get it to grip.

So I'll be buying the aforementioned.

Where did you get the torque settings from? And what is it.

  8. 80Nm
Dialogys and confirmed with the same value on the TFD instructions for the new rack bush.
