Looking for a bit of advice on tyres please chaps. I'm currently on MPSS 225/40 ZR18 92Y XL. I want to go to 235 which are meant to be on the car. I've found MPSS 235/40 ZR18 95Y (non XL). Will the load rating of s 95Y be the same as that of a 92Y XL? Are there differences? Cheers
Well the XL stands for Extra Load so that tyre has stiffer /stronger side wall and will offer a firmer ride
But with the load rating on a 92Y tyre being 630 kg (up to 680 kg in XL form I think) and the 95Y, 690 kg, would this not mean the side wall is stiffer/stronger on the latter as it has a larger load rating?
The correct load rating is 95 for that car. XL or not is irrelevant I assume. 92 would be too low, at least officially.
