Anyone have any history on the car below? Might be going to look at it on Saturday, but I won't bother if it's not right. It's been for sale for a while and no takers. Possibly looks lowered?
I had my eye on this one before I found mine, I agree it looks lowered, still got the wind deflectors on it and was with a Honda dealer when I saw it I think. Other than that nice spec a v low milage.
Yeah, gorgeous spec and 6k on the clock. I'll go and have a look at the weekend. Only downside is it's 140miles away from me
Would that mean that the tax wouldn't show? The sales guy is getting me a full spec sent over. It looks like it's been modified. It's just stuff like mapping I want to know about, it's not stuff I'm opposed to having because everyone does it anyway, would just be nice to know the history of it. It's got 26 months warranty left and a year with the dealer it's being sold by apparently, so I agree you can't go that wrong. Just want to be sure everything is as it should be, as it's a fair bit of money to me.
If the engine has been mapped that may effect your ability to claim warranty on engine parts etc, which may or may not bother you but will give you something extra to haggle with.
Yeah. I've phoned the guy three times and he keeps saying he's going to call me back asap but nothing, maybe that's why it's still there! I'm not driving 6 hours to be told it's not there or it's not as advertised!
If it's at a dealers it won't be taxed, they don't have taxed vehicles as it doesn't transfer with owners anymore.
Yeah I agree as you have to register it as a new owner if you tax it, but the tax was cancelled in on the 6th of august last year and nobody seems to know anything about the car, might just be best to keep looking for another one.
Did you manage to get any info on this one? I'm tempted to go and take a look,a little concerned about the lowered suspension, just in case it's spent 6000 miles as a track slag
I left it in the end, they put the price up 2 grand just before I was supposed to go and see it, and then knocked a grand off when I asked why. They were also a bit unsure as to why it had sat there for so long. He said it's because it's not a desirable colour/spec etc which is bull. It doesn't have the rs monitor though, so if you wanted that then it's not the car for you. Just seemed a bit fishy to me so I left it.
I went to see it on Saturday, the bodywork was pretty good, the suspension is H&R springs on standard shocks, however it's had tyres already at 6k miles (not sure if this is normal?)and they're "Marksman" super budget tyres, the drivers seat seemed very worn for the mileage, with the bolster leather wearing through already (pic attached). they assured me it had service history but the book wasn't available?!? I thought it could have potential but the sales manager wouldn't budge a penny in the price, and said he'd get more for it through the auction if didn't sell at the current asking price. I'm not sure how It'd fetch more at auction than selling from a main agent?
Yeah just seems a bit fishy! I've had my new one for 3 weeks and the seats were worse than that when I got it. It's done 20k but I can see why because it's not easy to get in and out without sliding over the bolsters. And I highly doubt he'd get more at auction, that's not why you send a car there!
I test drove this exact car when it was at Renault Manchester back in August 2015, was about to buy it when I eventually sold my R26 but transpired someone had put a deposit on it just before me . It only had 3k on it then and about a year later I saw it again but at altrincham dealer. It was always price low compared to everything else but had top spec !
