Light Wheel damage help please

Discussion in 'Detailing' started by OOagent, Apr 22, 2015.

  1. Hi all, as you can see from the pics below I've done some mild damage to one of my Steev alloys

Is there anything I can do to resolve this myself or is it best to get someone to sort it? Feel free to call me a perfectionist or mental at this point. Any ideas what a refurb might cost?

    Any help much obliged

    Si

That shouldn't be to difficult to touch up being black or blown in if you want a perfect finish by a wheel refurb outfit about £25ish. Your lucky the wheels are black mine are polished face nightmare if scratched or grazed.

  3. Thanks Ovy. My previous motor had polished face so I feel your pain.

  4. Sharpie

  5. It has crossed my mind as a starting point!

  6. Ide just get some black enamel paint and a little paint brush from a craft shop, thats what i have for mine only had to use it once or twice but only had to do it once and if I had to go find it now I would have a job. I didnt even sand it or anything just dabbed a little bit on and its still not come off from about 6 month ago.

  7. I've used my missus black nail polish before to cover up some stone chips on some newly refurbished wheels and I swear to god i can't find them now. Proper job.

  8. Straight down the local model shop for an airfix paint match. Try it, it can hide it rather well, if you don't like it get it repaired by a pro.

  9. I've scuffed some paint off two of mine on the rim, halfords standard black gloss does well enough.
Just remember less is more, try touch it up using as little as possible even layer it a few times if needs be.

but don't use as marker pen :tongueout: they aren't even actually black!

  10. Thanks guys. Enamel it is.
