As above really. Not really finding any benefit to being on this forum to be honest. Seems like all it ever is is the same questions over and over with the same answers. Yes it's free but that's the only plus for me, no real traders deals, no meets, no competitions, nothing really. I do like the forum but it's just repetitive, there's never anything new to look at. Needs something else, not sure if anyone else feels the same. I'll prob keep an eye to see if it improves but for now I'm off. Cheers guys.
bit of a need fest this post, but I will say there is a major lack of decent info on here, which is a shame. Same as lack of any decent guides.
So where is better? What meets have you organised? Etc These type of forums are only as good as it's members and there input. Agreed on the repetitiveness, but that's on every single car forum iv joined, suits beginners etc.
Maybe this forum needs to turn into something like the renaultsport forum, as in all renaultsport cars, could be called rscars or something, this might get more traders here for discounts, meets. Etc Agree only as good as it's members, going all Renaultsport would give more members and make the site more active.more members might give more advertising and more money for the site operator's
Sorry to hear you feel that way. As said above the forum is only as good as the members that post on it. Feel free to organise meets on here, if they are arranged people will come. There is more to come in terms of shows when the 2016 season gets started, we will be attending various shows and making sure we show our faces this coming year. As far as Renaultsport Megane forums go this is the biggest and most active, there has been another large one prior to this but that has died a death. I personally think we have a great community here.
I don't need to say anywhere is better I'm just stating the way I feel about this forum I think it's lacking somewhat. I've been a member on loads of forums, been a rep, organised countless meets and I still organise regular (Renaultsport Majority) track days. Nothing seems to happen on here, nothing regional or any suggestions for a meet anywhere apart from French car events. And all of what's stated above. Agreed it's the people that make the forum and the people on here are great it's just the same stuff over and over so how superb do we all have to be to make it great?
I don't use the site as much as I used too and neither do a lot of people I know on here but still try and stay active.
Agree with Rob .. I know allot of people on here and meet regularly.. But none of us use the site very much
To be fair it's quite a quiet forum maybe not that many megane rs's or many owners tend not to use a forum I find the aussies site alot busier and a wealth of info. I've not used this site much in the last 6 month but only cause of lack of interest in cars(even neglecting mine cleaning wise) But now I've started to take interest again and been on here daily as of late
This is such an attention seeking thread!! Anyway seeing as people are discussing it I actually like the forum although its not as busy as the facebook forums but facebook forums are taking over old forums as we know them.
True, That's why our fb page is Massive. Thing is I don't get paid, I have a life, I set this up when the old site got sold out, I have no computer knowledge and I've set the place up free to you. I haven't got time to copy guides over. I also know there's other small forums trying to light bangers in here so to speak. I thought the site was doing really well tbh? That's me told!
After buying my car I looked at several Megane forums and this one was by far the best and most active. One of the other ones even pointed me towards this one saying that this is where everyone had gone after that one got too quiet. Im happy enough with this one so far, I can see other peoples projects and plenty of pics and advice. I hope you don't all give up on this forum just yet.
Nice to see people passionate about this site, think I need to join Facebook, I must be the only person not on it!
I have come from SELOC and that site forum is huge compared to this and modifying cars is very common which keeps posts new and interesting but after 7 years even I had seen every new post a hundred times. Here mods are less, owners are fewer and so you don't always see a lot of new posts. I think a lot of smaller sites like these are being combined into general FB pages. Its never going to have a ton of new stuff all the time and it is up to all/any of use to organise meets and events. So, no need for a 'last post' (drama queen! :rolleyes, just pop back every so often for a catch up.
Whilst I agree the Facebook Pages are booming and a wealth of information the retention of that information is a major downfall. You can't search for said information, and after a week or so of new posts that info is pretty much lost.
Was just about to make that very point. Its the one reason I will always prefer actual dedicated forums rather than social media outlets. A good well explained reply here to a 'silly' or 'basic' question can be viewed by thousands of others - time and time again.
I still go on the old site if I need any guides etc - was a great site til it got taken over, everything is still there though - we should copy and paste over all the old pages if somehow possible i think Facebook has taken over a lot - there's loads of people on there that are not on here that post continually this forum is good - just not busy enough, pity some of the other lads started the Renault sport club too as if both clubs were combined would be far busier
I think this is a good place to be, plenty of help and info if needed, the FB page has a lot of traffic now as well, i wouldn't want to see this site go down the pan, its taken the fellas a lot of their own time to get it to where it is today.
As above ,I think its a great site ,and like most people visit a few forums so get my car fix everywhere !
there a different breed on facebook! its even worse on there, the same question get asked nearly every hour
