Right question for those that have one or know of the difference between the two turbos you get get from each company, are they made by different people? Does one make more power then the other? Or is that down to mapping? I'm asking as dave at ktec has always been great sorting parts for me but then rstuning for me are better mappers etc. Thanks
When I opted for a hybrid (2012) the main difference was that ktec hybrid was only for the cold side and rs tuning was both hot and cold sides. This meant it was a simple removal of old turbo with hot side left in place for ktec but rs tuning needed the whole turbo out. I don't think there was much difference in ultimate power in the 2 but rs tuning hybrid got the same power with less boost. ( I am running 297/306 @ 1.1 bar). Unfortunately I took Pauls advice and it was only a £100 difference between a std rebuild vs hybrid but I have no idea on the actual spec as noted above.
Really? Incase always under the impression a hybrid 250 turbo was different to hybrid for 225? Learn something new every day
the difference is when they start as a r26 turbo is smaller than a 250. It can work out cheaper selling the 250 turbo buying a cheap td04 turbo and using that as a hybrid. The he biggest you can go is td04hl20t with various different blade setups 6/11 blade cold side 20t 6/11/13 blade hot side td04hl
Lol I believe you mate I'm not technically minded enough to understand that haha I get in and drive that's me
