R26 Koni shocks

  1. Hi everyone,

I've tried having a search but can't really see too much about them, most topics tend to end up discussing coilovers lol.
Basically I found out yesterday I can get koni shocks at a very good price through work, and over this summer I'll most likely be looking at a suspension overhaul with some cooksport springs.
I was just curious if anyone had any experience with these shocks? I know they're very popular on the clios along with eibachs or the cooksport springs. So I'm wondering if it's a similar case with the megane?

In terms of use the car will see about 7k a year in miles at the most and I'm hoping to get a good 5 or 6 track days in this year too, did around that many last year in the clio and loved it. I'm not looking to set lap records or anything just wanted something that would suit this kind of driving or am I best just using original shocks and ok mapper springs? Also to add I will be using semi slicks for track days.

    Any opinions/experience would be brilliant

    thanks

  2. When i enquired about the koni shocks when first released, i was informed the kit was designed on a 225FF, so the shocks would be softer than R26 units and probably make the handling worse!

Iv decided std R26 shocks and cooksport springs will be the best option for road use, without spending silly money on coilovers...

  3. Hi,

I have 225 with Eibach and the std shocks seem unfit for the Eibachs. So R26 shocks are different than items on 225? Ride after Eibach install is unsettled to say the least.

    Thanks

  4. It could be to worn out shocks not being unsuited to each others.
