Hi, Progressively getting worse is a knocking noise I have whilst pulling out from junctions, i.e. With the wheels turned. It's not the driveshafts as both are recent and nothing else looks suspect, no droning so doubt it's a bearing. It's rotational, increases in frequency with speed and only occurs when the wheels are turned and I'm accelerating, making me think it may be the diff. Anyone had or heard of this? It's a ph2 225 F1. Thanks, Toby Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think he means just the "normal" differential not an lsd. On a side note if it is the diff I will have a "normal" one for sale soon Sent from my HTC Desire EYE using Tapatalk
Yeah, no lsd, just the standard open diff is my suspect. Can't think of anything else it could be which is rotational and specific to having the wheels turned which isn't the driveshaft! I probably wouldn't bother splitting the box to swap a diff with how cheap good boxes can be bought! Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Very true I picked up a low mileage box that had been bought with a 3 month warranty and not fitted for £30 as the bloke sold the car! Still has the stickers on from the sale! I'm going to open it up and fit a r26 diff so will be able to check it's all in good Nick. But couldn't believe how cheap it was! I could probably sell just the actuator for the same price if not more! Sent from my HTC Desire EYE using Tapatalk
