250 Knocking coming from front right

  1. Hello everyone, I'm hoping you guys can help me identify the problem.
Basically there's a knocking coming from the front right which can only be heard at low speed over uneven ground. Another symptom is a vibration sound when releasing the clutch in first gear pulling away from stationary. It doesn't make this sound every single time and seems worse when turning right. The steering seems fine, It doesn't torque steer etc and the engine doesn't seem to vibrate anymore which makes me think it's not an engine mount.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance

  2. It will be a worn hub. Quite common problem, which renault replace with a whole hub. Probably a ball joint of some sort. Probably best having aron autos or mark black to have a look, as they can get the individual parts like balljoints for them.

  3. Ah okay thanks mate, When i had my R26 i had that problem and ended up going to Derby to Arons Autos.

  4. Just had mine done on my 250 Cup, speak to Andy or Paul at R-Sport in Wimbledon - 020 8542 0042, tell them Andy Hamilton sent you.

They prepare the Clio Cup race cars for Renault UK and are also an official service centre, they hold ball joints in stock, will be a lot easier than going up to Derby from where you are.

  5. Okay cool thanks for your help mate
