Hi all, After some advice. I recently got a decat fitted. Since fitting, the Megane has developed a knock. I suspected the ball joints and on closer inspection the rubber boot has a tiny split. The knock is there under braking, hard acceleration and slow moving on full lock right. Would this be down to the tiny split? (I know diagnosing noises you've never heard is nigh on impossible....) Thanks in advance.
jack up the car and hold the wheel at 12 & 6 then 9 & 6 and give it a hard shake to see if makes the knock
I've given it the once over checking everything, problem it when I jack it up I take the weight off the wheels. So I don't think it'll make that noise without weight on the wheels. its weird as when carrying a passenger, they can also feel it through their feet too.
Sounds like the decat is touching something? The clios used to suffer clearance issues around the subframe
