250 knock knock, ball joints....

  1. I’ve had the tell tale knocking for a couple of months, so knew it was the usual lower ball joints.

Had them done at R-Sport in Wimbledon yesterday, usual top notch service from these guys, they are an official Renault service centre but it actually feels more like a independent Renaultsport specialist, so knowledgable about Renaultsport/motorsport.

R-Sport actually have the ball joints in stock, they prepare the Clio Cup race cars for Renault UK and the Megane and the Clio share the same ball joint, think he said they actually supply them to Aaron’s Auto’s.

Anyway, thought it might be handy to know for anyone in London or the south.

Wish i had known that they were the same for the Clio and Megane as i could of got them from R-Sport instead of the polish seller on eBay who charges postage per balljoint, I needed all 4 as well :worried:

  3. They said they had a box of them Jamie, said they change them all the time on the Clio Cup racers...

They serviced mine last week, I didn't bother mentioning the ball joints as I thought I'd be told I need to change everything, as your average main dealer advises. I had it it in my mind to do it in the new year, but they noticed them, top guys there....

Aye Its like £400 worth of parts for each side from Renault IIRC.

Good to know R-Sport have them in stock now though, Im not sure what ones they used but from what i have read and can tell the ones on eBay are Megane N4 solid joints so should last longer?

  5. Not sure which ones they used mate, just glad it's sorted without breaking the bank! I'm sure you can't get much better than N4 solid joints, like you have on yours

  6. How much did they charge you? Need mine doing now....

  7. Sorry mate, they did a few bits and pieces for me, including a service and it was all on the one invoice, which I don't have with me.

Call them on 020 8542 0577, ask for Paul or Andy and tell them that Andy Hamilton sent you.

  8. Will do, thanks!
