King racing mains bearings

    have you filed the tang off or had the block machines to suit

    Sure they are available without the lugs too?
    I used kolbenschmidt mains on my build as the king mains where out of stock at the time.
     
  3. I'll have to ask the question the ones I've been supplied have lugs and was told to file them off or have block machined

    Yeah it would definitely be worth asking, will save you time or money or both for sure. The lugs are for bearing alignment more than to stop them spinning like most people seem to think.

    Im not a fan of filing them, the bearing will have a low or high point after and will probably not sit square.

    Block and saddles can be machined but definitely take it to somebody reputable, one mistake and it will be scrap iron.

    You can buy non-tagged versions.... I would not file down the tags.

    I used standard King bearings on my build, IIRC we didn't like the clearance with their race spec bearings, cira 3.5tho (Don't quote me on that though).
