Khumo V70a Med

Discussion in 'Track Days & Track Driving' started by papps, Sep 6, 2015.

  1. How much should I be looked to pay for 225 40 18 Khumo V70a's in med compound?

The only place I can find that has them in stock is camskill, and they are rather pricey at 175 a corner.....

    Any ideas on other stockist?

  2. Mega Tyres but won't last long on the front mate

  3. I've just checked 3 websites and all are £3-15 more expensive. They're awesome tyres

  4. Only come with 4mm, if your on it you can trash the fronts in 1 day , better off with AD08R

  5. The KU36 is meant to be a decent tyre too.

  6. As steve says , these are mega tyres .. take some beating grip wise

I wouldn't recommend them if you don't have any negative camber on the front or you could easily destroy the edges on 1 trackday . I got 4 days out of my last set on the front so they can last if you look after them , i did have to rotate them of the rims after 2 days mind

If you have a set of track wheels you would be better running V70's on the rear and something more hardwearing up front like Dz03g's or part worn slicks

PsCup2's can be had for around the £150 mark but bear in mind these have directional tired pattern so you couldn't swap them round on the rims if the edges wear out

  7. Cheers guys!!!

4mm doesn't sound good at all.....

Hard to look past the AD08R given their fitted price and the 8mm of tread - would be nice not to have to worry about changing up again for a while...

John running -2 camber atm just for reference

  8. -3 and still kill the outside on my slicks..
had set of part worn pirelli's last time had about 2-3mm on the wear indicators and
one qualifying and race and the fronts were gone on outside edge.. That was 30mins haha

Ad08r's have lasted 2 1/2 trackdays and a few races very well...
look up dmack tyres its basicly a road legal wrc Tarmac tyre

  9. AD08R definitely better all round.

  10. Yeah I had noticed those josh - they seem cheap as well...

Would they behave in a similar manner to other road legal semi slicks you reckon?

    [what a minefield lol]

  11. I'm sure they would work similar probably displace water better too,
just not sure of wear rate as don't know anyone using them so don't know what compound is
Just seen and thought I'll try them at some point but car isn't on road anymore and be a waste on my golf Gtd

  12. I run these in time attack, Fronts are near the limit now on the inner edge.

Ive done 5 Races and drove to germany and back with them. Excellant tyres i get them for around 150 each.

My last TA race at rockingham im using some cheap as NS2R in soft so lets see how they do.....

  13. Cant you try a thinner tyre?

  14. I was gonna try if I kept megane on road but didn't so didn't buy.. Would be a waste of good tyre if I bought for the golf it only does motorways

  15. And u using the dmack list 1a kinetic s or list 1b dmt-rc dmacks..

  16. Go for the kumho v70 in hard k90. it will warm up nicely after a few laps and won't go off
