I have a problem with my central locking at the min have changed batteries in both keys but still won't unlock, lock or start car easily, I keep getting a msg saying card not detected any ideas very welcome!
Leave card in the reader for a bit. Seem to forget who they are paired to sometimes. Is yours a proximity type one. As in you don't need to use the card, the car locks/unlocks without it?
There could be 2 different faults here. The replacable battery in the key card is only for the central locking. So if youve replaced that and it still doesnt work correctly it will need recoding or replacing. The battery built into the key which is for starting the car, is charged by keeping the key card in the slot in the dash. Alternating the key cards was advised by renault. Hope this helps.
Are you sure the dash recharges the keycard? the battery I've replaced in my remote is the non rechargeable type. Have I fitted the wrong one?
Suggest you google, and also look on eBay as there's lots of info on how the key works and what can fail. Think this thread has loads of info, but not all exactly correct.
No it doesn't, the battery in the key is purely to open the doors or send a signal if you have keyless. If the battery is dead none of that works but you can still slot the key in and the car will start because it senses the chip inside it.
Re read my post mate. Yes it does charge up the key card. The battery that u can replace by removing the key blade (2025) is purely for the cdl.
