Around £350 iirc mate. Regarding coilovers I think I'm going to order clubsports on Monday from auto racing in France
About the inlet hose and recirc valve, does it make a big difference? Or are they sort of necessary with the IC and exhaust? I'm trying to figure out myself if the hose does make a difference or money badly spend
I've heard mixed opinions go on what you think and if you've got the spare cash. The inlet hose I bought cos I wanted to brighten up the cars engine bay a little, I've heard the response is a little sharper but power wise I'll be surprise if it makes anything over 5bhp. MTC do one for the mk3's for around £60. The recirc valve I ordered as I didn't realise the car already had a metal one. A friend with a focus ST recommended me one as his rubber one was leaking boost!
Thanks for the info! Nice car you've got. I thought the inlet would be recommended if you change IC or exhaust and such. I'm only going for a Fashtech RStuner map so I'll reconsider
Just to update; Got the decat and intercooler fitted quality service by ktec decat sounds insane! Absolutely love it. Ended up ordering kw clubsports from France in the end they turned up today getting them fitted by ktec Thursday along with their stud and nut kit, braided lines and some rbf600 ready for bedford in a couple weeks Booked the car in for Paul at RS Tuning for the end of March for a remap, service and belts. Then wheel refurb and a few other little bits and that'll be it done. Thanks for reading
So I dropped the car off at ktec for them to fit and set up and the coilovers, fit their stud kit braided lines and some rbf600 brake fluid then it was off to bedford the following week. Car performed so good I was so happy with it! Got ktec to set the front with -2 degree camber and that seemed to work wonders! Didn't get overtaken by anything on the day besides 2 crazy E46 M3's so that was a bonus. Unfortunately no video as the camera I wanted to use wasn't sticking to the windscreen and my suction mount for my for vibrated too much so if anyone has any clips of me on the day feel free to post. Just before lunch my passengers wing mirror glass fell out along the back straight just after the chicane, long story short one of the clips on the glass had snapped off about a year ago and could never be bothered to replace it. New one ordered and should be here today or tomorrow. Waiting till the end of the month now so Paul at rst can work his magic, belts service and a remap. Then I'll be ordering a set of wheels for track with either 888's or dz03's as the RSR's weren't really up to the job lol. I've booked the renault sport day 1st July bedford, I plan to book the one for 12th August depending how tired I am because me and the mrs get back from holiday the same day in the morning! I was going to book fcs and do a session or two there, but I'm not a massive fan of Castle combe so I'll see if I can try get something else booked. After those days I want to try get in 2 more.
I wondered the spec of your car after our little battle Saturday..... My tyres were too hot after 4 laps so backed off lol. Steve
What exactly was wrong with the RSRs? I'm looking at ordering some this week. And, what type of differences did you notice with the decat?
Nothing wrong with the RSR's just want something with a bit more grip. Had them on my 182 and on my second set on my megane, they are great tyres for the money. Decat is a must, you'll see what I mean when you get it done
Update: Got back from RS Tuning about an hour ago and blimey the car is a different animal! put my foot down a couple times on the motorway and it pulls like a train even in 6th! Decided to go through some back roads near me on the way home and it really is unbelievable! Had the car around 14 months now and don't know why I took so long to get it done! Pulled 312.6bhp and around 340/345lbs torque? Correct me if I'm wrong. Also a few weeks back I decided to change the headlights to the black insert ones. The front end looked awful imo from the pictures from Bedford That's about it really. I've got a track evening booked at Donington in June and the renault sport evening at Bedford in July, I've also just received a bunch of cleaning products from auto finesse and slims detailing. I'm no professional but I'll be giving it my best! After the track evenings the wheels will be getting a refurb, some Michelin PSS or the P-Zero's, back to standard pads and it'll be getting driven as little as possible. Around 100 miles a month! Me and the missus opened our joint savings account Tuesday saving a bit now but saving as hard as possible next year for our house. As soon as the deposits been put down and a daily has been sourced the meg will be getting stripped/semi stripped, caged, bucket seats, cae and possibly some slicks. Or I may go for some dz03g's. Unless I decide to buy another car and do it all over again lol! Thanks for reading, Jake
Great looking car this one, it sits so nice on the coil overs, where did you get the headlights bud ? I think I'll be getting some for mine soon.
Cheers mate! Got then from eBay http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-Meg...Black-1-Pair-O-S-N-S-/201125824910?nav=SEARCH
Plans are to strip, proper cage, fixed bucket seats, cae and another set of wheels with slicks. This won't be happening till we get our house end of next year/mid year after! Then possibly start getting into racing, I've heard it's expensive so will need to look into that! Got the clubsports from here mate - http://www.auto-racing.eu/kits-comb...filetes-kw-clubsport-renault-megane-3-rs.html Don't be fool'd they're French, from my experience better and quicker service from Curtis at AST!
Just to update this; Past couple months have been pretty shit with the car having problem after problem from a nail in the tyre to boost leak! Sorted a couple bits out but now have a 'check injection system' light on the dash, I think my ball joints are on their way out and boost still doesn't feel 100%. Car is going into k-tec a week today so they can take a proper look at it. In other news, I cheered myself up and treated the car to some new shoes! Bit of a faff getting them on. There wasn't much space on the wheel holes for the nuts to fit! Didn't really want to take the stud kit off but I probably won't keep these wheels forever so Thursday I decided to take the stud kit off and use the bolts supplied with the wheels.
Ahhh saw this on FB. You were struggling with the wheel bolt holes yeah? How'd you sort it after. Looking good mate and plans sound great.
Thank you mate. In the I decided to take the stud kit out and fit the bolts supplied with the wheels Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Haha, I did indeed. House duties and all that, I'll be back in another one in a couple years Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
