Alright guys - bit of a problem, hopeing someone may be able to help out on. Had my BC Coilovers fitted on Friday, and done about 140 miles since: over the last 50 miles the car has developed a clicking sound coming from the rear at lowish speeds (30-10mph); The car has no spacers or anything of that nature and is on 225 40 18 tyres. The coilovers were fitted professionally at an Ind Renault specialist that has a very good rep - the ride height was not adjusted, and hence is on BC standard ride height of 2mm lower all round I think atm I managed to kind of re-create the sound tonight when the car was stationary and have a small video for you to see and hear: I've had a good feel around the tyres and can't find any evidence of any scrubbing or anything like that - the car drives very well considering that the Geo hasn't been done yet.. Any advice would be great, Cheers, Papps
exhaust dropped and too close to beam or shock?.. i made my own stainless exhaust and when i put the coil-overs on i had to adjust my mounts as it was too close
Chris - congrats - you were the winner lol - it was the silver part at the bottom of one of the rear shocks Thanks again guys
I'll do a proper feedback report once I have them set up: Initial thoughts: they're a lot harsher at slow speeds through the city etc as you'd expect, it seems to really have increased the limits on the car a lot through the corners, the firm sharp turn in is a lot of fun and inspires a lot more confidence in the bends. I've got the shocks on full soft setting atm for the 1st 300 miles or so to stop them seizing in the future, so the car is a little bouncy/jumpy at the rear over a nice A/B road at higher speeds. The car is far more bias towards understeer than it was before, but again they've not been properly set up yet, and this vanishes quickly when you put the hammer down. I've had zero issues with many different types of speedbumps which is good.
