265 Is my DMF ok or not?

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by rick293, May 3, 2022.

  1. Hi Guys,

So I removed my gearbox to replace my clutch and DMF (to replace leaking crankshaft oil seal) in my 265.

I really don’t know if my DMF is ok to reuse. It was showing no signs of wear that I know of.

Here’s a couple of videos and I hope you can give me your opinions

    Thanks,
    Rick

You need to measure the total movement in millimetres .

The repair manual states a limit for the amount of movement , off the top of my head its around 30 to 40mm

I was told that 9 teeth movement is acceptable

  4. Do you have a link to the repair manual?

Its getting a new flywheel. I compared the movement to a new flywheel and its night and day. Even though there was no symptoms before removing the gearbox, I don't fancy having to remove it all again when/if symptoms occur.
