Is it the rocker panel or the valve cover?

  1. Hey,

    owning a RS3 ph2.
I took the meg for a oil an clean to check out where the oil leak from.

And I couldn't tell where it leaks from.
is it the rocker panel? the valve cover? the sump gasket? idk really.

at 250 km after the clean the top part looked dry. but after 200 km's more it got "sweaty" from the top.
but the sump area at 250km was already with oil.

  2.
  3. Looking at your pictures, it'll appear that your rocker cover/camshaft cover (whatever you want to call it) is leaking. There's few seals you can change on it while having it in place but if it's leaking between the cover and cylinder head it's a bigger job.
You might have more than one leak but it's also very easy for the oil to travel down to your sump but very difficult to follow where by eyes as the place is cramped

  4. Thanks for the comment.

I'm gonna take it to the mechanic who first did my rocker panel 3k km ago.

    I'll update asap.
