250 Intermittent "check injection" whilst driving certain routes

  1. Whilst driving the car, depending on just how rough the road is or the incline, I sometimes see "check cruise control" and "check injection system" messages and spanner light up. Is there anything worth checking? It seems to happen randomly, and positional which hints wiring to me, but I could be wrong. This happens regardless of engine load/throttle/rpm. Waiting on my OBD2 bluetooth reader to come so I can read the exact code, and then hand over to my mechanic.

  2. Gotta be a loose plug somewhere. Bumps in the road pulling one apart briefly maybe.

  3. I suspect your right, its a case of which one. Car drives absolutely fine otherwise. I'll give that a try later and report back. Thanks

  4. I would say that if its throwing up cruise and injection faults. Try plugs on the injection system and ecu first. Iirc cruise is controlled from there also.

  5. Managed to spray all the clips bar right into the injector connector themselves (couldn't reach), problem persists. The ECU seemed like a sealed unit, didn't see a great deal of connectors unless I was looking at the wrong thing. For what its worth, when I disable the cruise control I'm left with a single error 'check injector system'. Think I'll wait for bluetooth OBD2 reader before fiddling anymore.

  6. So the bluetooth OBD 2 code reader arrived, and low and behold despite having check injection signs it seems renault's ECU fault codes arent read by standard OBD2 equipment. Anyway despite that, I cleared the codes to see if it would reoccur. It hasn't yet and that could be related to cleaning the connectors who knows. I'll report back if anything changes.
