Bit of a weird problem, as I was coming home just now I noticed that the interior lights were staying on at sort of half brightness while driving. They didn't fade off gradually like normal after starting the engine. They behaved normally after I stopped and locked the car, it was just while driving. Is this an earth problem or something else? May or may not be related but I did have a wireless obd reader plugged in earlier connected to my phone, could this have caused any problems? Although I'm not sure how it could. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I was going to suggest the three way switch on the light itself but if they work normally at other times I guess not. Have you tried cycling the switch on and off to see if the behaviour changes?
Have u put leds in the lights? The interior light timer is in the uch so possibly ur reader could of upset it, but not that likely
Yes, have fitted leds. Been fine before now, just today that they've started playing up. Whilst driving along I did try the main switch in different positions. They did switch off, but as soon as I put it back in the open door position they came back on. Is it possible to reset the timer, or is that not the solution?
I fitted led to all mine interior lights and the ones in the bottom of the door stay on ever so slightly when driving, as soon as i stop get out and lock they go of. I think its something to do with leds storing power so when car is running there is power to them if that makes sence. It hasnt worried me anyway.
I've had the same leds fitted for more than a year, and they've not done it before, so a bit strange that they start doing it now?
Yea mate its the leds, not the car. I bought a pack of leds and some do it and some doing, those capless 501's are turd in led form, when put on the outside of a car most only last 5 mins. Cause so little power is needed to power an led, the slightest thing will power them up. New ones will sort it
Been out in it today and they're working as normal, no problems whatsoever. So, I'd say its safe to assume that it's something to do with the odb scanner being plugged in yesterday. Not sure exactly why it's causing a problem though. Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated.
