Hi All, It says in the handbook that the instrument lights come on with the ignition, mine don't. No option to do this in the menu. Any ideas as the speedo needle is difficult to see without the lights on. Any ideas ? Thanks Chris
The instrument lights only come on with the lights switched on. Renault UK offered replacement instrument clusters on the 250 with white needle instead of red.
on my 250, they don't come on with the light switch on 'auto'. the speedo needle normally has a white stripe on it, which should make it easy to see - the fuel gauge on the other hand...
On the 250 it will require a white speedo needle conversion or live with switching on the lights. On a 265 the clockset illumination is always on iregardless of the light switch position. Edit I have a 250 clockset with a white needle for sale if interested?
Late reply, just back from holiday, speedo hopeless in bright sunlight as for reading in kph, impossible. How much for 250 clockset and how is mileage etc reset. How difficult a job is it to do, can you let me know. Thanks
Sorry I've just seen this. The Mileage is stored on the clock set and in the body control/ECU. When one of the units is changed the replacement unit updates to that of the others if there is any discrepancy (it's very clever really). I'd be after £70+postage for one. They are only clipped in but you do need a special key to remove them (which is exactly the same as a Kenwood stereo removal key) so paying someone £50 would be a bit much IMO
No thats for renault to supply and fit a new clock for £50, as its not a recall but they contribute most of the cost to replace it
I spoke to local Renault dealership today. Not much of a clue, thought the speedo was yellow! but did quote 1.5 hours, £157.00, to remove and fit one supplied by me!!! Any suggestions of a dealer that knows about RS Meganes please. Surrey, Hampshire or SW London ?
