I have managed to remove my drivers side swivel hub after it failed on my not. I have a replacement bearing I bought a while ago just in case so thought all was going well until I tried to get the old one out. I have had a few goes with the slide hammer to try to remove the pin but no movement at all. I haven't tried full force as I know alloy can be weak so thought I would ask here first Is sheer brute force required using the slide hammer and am i correct in screwing it into thread behind the sleeve under the bottom bearing ? If the above doesnt work Can heat be applied if so which areas? Or Can I hammer it out from behind as its rusted through in the centre of the old bearing race and will be replaced? Any help greatly appreciated and if I'm heading in wrong direction let me know i take advice reasonably well haha.
