Glad you are liking the R26 - they're a cracking car (when working correctly as you've found )

Welcome aboard mate, well done on buying the best colour

  7. Anybody know about a short shift for the R26?

  8. Welcome along!

    Yes mate,

Arguably the best mod you can do the R26 - just involves moving the pin on the gear linkaged basically.

'Boardy' on this will do an exchange service for F all (something like £50) and will maching your linkage and return it to you - failing that if you won't want to have the car off the road you can buy a whole new one from Ktec with new bearings etc thats been modded in the same way, the part from renault is £130 so the £240 from Ktec isn't actually that bad - http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=5107 and it means you don't need your car off the road.

Midlands Renault Specialist (aka Mark Black) can also do this for you.

I went for the Ktec only because at the time there wasn't an option of a forumer for modding them.

  9. Excellent thanks for that Papps....also when warm the gearstick doesn't centralise will this help cure that?

  10. Beyond my level of knowledge I'm afraid mate - but just modding the linkage won't solve the issue, thats for sure.

The new bearings etc from the Ktec kit may do, but really don't know

  11. Thanks for the advice...I'm a mechanic so will investigate during the week!

  12. Welcome ! What was wrong with the car ?

  13. Very very easy fix that just clean and clean or finely file the nylon bush, job done

  14. As Steve said, take the selector out of the gearbox and file the nylon bush down and re grease it, I put this off since I got my car thinking it would be something expensive but I did it a month or so ago and the difference is night and day, and it didn't cost me a penny! There's a guide on here somewhere I think.

  15. Would anyone be able to get hold of the link for the guide on how to as I've got the same problem as well. Thanks

  16. Yep a bit of grease and a gentle file on it and the spring will return.

  17. Welcome
