Hi all, I signed up to the MeganeSport forum, but was directed to this forum as its more active. My names Ash, I'm 24 and live in Nottingham. I'm currently looking for a Megane R26... Now I'm a little older and have a bit of money, I can finally have a look at owning one after many years of dreaming! As for current car, I've just got a Ford Focus 1.6 estate which is a company car so nothing to shout about. Any help you guys can give me, or things to look out for when viewing cars I'd be really grateful. My current guidelines are sub 60k miles, the fewer owners the better, R26 and preferably in black. Check out megane sport on face book few for sale there. Also cambelt to be done is a must with new pump and aux belt and pulley. Also Stine chaps on rear arches mud flaps will sort that. Also if engine mounts have been done not expensive just another cost of you have just bought. Can tell if they're gone if plenty vibrations in the vehicle and try and get one with little or no mods depends from whom you get it as people always want more power.
Welcome mate, there's a lot of good r26's out there, just make sure it had good service history, preferably with a specialist and all of them pretty much should of had Cambelt changed by now. Also check hub bearings and window regulators as there fairly common issues but not the end of the world
