  1. so decided today was a good day to do the gearbox oil. headed to a mates after work for a wee hand. jacked the car removed the bolts wheel stays put give a pull nothing, give it a boot from the back still solid..... and this is with new hubs and discs fitted 10 month ago. for something so simple i think itll have to be a garage job to get the damn wheel off :worried:

  2. Why are you taking the alloy off to do the gearbox oil?

i had it with mine sometimes, rubber mallet did it

  3. Just give it a kick with the back of your foot ?

And as Matty says how come your taking the wheel off ?

Remove the under tray and you can access the drain plug and top up hole easy peasy

  4. the alloy isnt budging at all and we even tried using a hub puller LOL

  5. was guna be doin it through the arch and taking the plate off to gain access to the gearbox. iv honestly used my whole wieght in kicking the alloy absolute no movement.

  6. You just gotta persist with it. Mine did this once. Just keep going at it. Use a mallet or something. A garage isn't gonna do anything you can't lol.

  7. Again, you dont need to take the alloy off !

  8. Nope just take the under tray off and reach up to the front of the box where the fill hole is.

  9. loosenend the nuts slightly drove it slowly whilst goin side to side, loosened it niely for me to prise it off. the garage who had changed the hubs didnt use copper grease so winter killed it. ok mattyw only goin by advice from another post about changing gearbox oil. cheers anyhoo guys

  10. If you're doing it off a jack then it's got to be easier to access from the side surely ?

  11. I did mine on a jack with the wheel on, the level is on the front of the box. Easy to whip the under tray off, feed a hose down from the top put the end in the box and then pour the box oil straight down the pipe.
