Hi, So i've just ordered the megane 275 trophy. (Hurry up march!!). Its my 1st ever renaultsport car. So i've come here to get peoples opinions on the renaultsport megane range, whether it be the 250/265, or the 275 if somebody on here is lucky enough to have theirs already. I've seen bucket loads of reviews on youtube, but there isn't really any reviews which describe how the cars are to live with on a day to day basis. They're all track reviews really. So any info would be much appreciated, and thanks in advance!
Hi Danny, welcome along. There's a couple of us on here that have the new Megane already and a couple more like you, waiting till March for the new registration. How they are to live with a so subjective it's hard to give you an answer without knowing what it is your used to and expecting. If you've come from a C1, it will feel like a hard as nails rocket. If you've come from an Ariel Atom, it will feel like a soft wallowy sloth. I know these are extremes but you get my point hopefully.
Hey Danny. Whilst I am on the other side of the planet, I've had a 275 for a while, and love it. I came out of a 2012 Clio RS (what you would call a Raider spec) and find the Megane to be a much more grown up vehicle. It's still stiff enough that I feel like I am driving something special, but it's much softer than the clio I had, which irritated every passenger. I haven't tracked mine yet, but will do soon. I like the new entertainment, Nav and telemetry system - a big upgrade over previous generations. Sound system is still a disappointment for a car of this price. Doors are so log that you have to be very careful with them, and the rims are very easy to kerb.
Hi Danny, not a trophy but I've had my 265 cup since September and love it. Went from an R26 and for me it's an evolution of a great car. Day to day it's really easy to live with, the car is more than happy to potter around in town traffic and cruise on the motorway and of course on track it excels. Mpg so far has been great I'm currently averaging 33mpg but the m1 roadworks help that. There's plenty of space in the boot and the kids fit in no problem at all. Really can't fault it and I hope when yours arrives you'll be just as chuffed. What spec have you gone for?
Welcome Danny I've had my 275 for a fortnight now and couldn't be happier with it! I upgraded from a 2010 RS250 Cup and even between the two, there is such a difference; the 275 just feels sharper and more alive, the interior is a really nice place to be, the ohlins (if specc'd) are incredible and new exhaust system really sounds the part. I've done 300 miles in it and am travelling to Wales and back tomorrow, so should have it nicely run in by then. Day to day for my commute (about 25 miles there and back) is a breeze ... but I am only getting 23mpg, which is probably about right with the constant stopping and starting of Milton Keynes roundabouts. What did you spec on yours? Bet you can't wait!
Thanks for the replies guys. And no i can't wait! But it's something to look forward to i suppose. I didn't have the chance to test drive one, the dealer said there was only four in the country and they were all sold so all your info is really appreciated. Corey and TeaJay, ive gone for liquid yellow and the 19" speedline turini alloys. Didn't bother with the Ohlins dampers or the Cup 2 tyres.
Oh and i ordered it from arnold clark renault. They have an offer on at the min where you get nearly 5 grand off the list price. I got it for less than a 265!!
Hi mate welcome my 275 arrives 10th feb but I'm waiting until march 1st for the new plate. Previously had a 172cup Clio a 182 trophy and a megane r26 so I can't wait
