250 HEL Braided Lines - Rear lines don't fit!

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by James B, Apr 24, 2016.

  1. Hi,

Has anyone else experienced a problem when trying to fit rear HEL brake lines??

Just been fitting mine now and the fronts are great, but the rear are too long and once fitted are bent into a shape and overly stressed!

Complete nightmare. And to make it even worse the standard lines have to be cut to be removed ...

Going to see if they can send me some shorter lines, but thought I would see if anyone else had suffered the same problem as well.

  2. Also, it's completely pointless in terms of a performance gain seeing as how short they are, wish I hadn't bothered!

  3. My rear Goodridges are kinked. I know what you mean, but you need the length for the rear beam extending or they will just rip out. As to cutting the rears, i didn`t have to do that. They just unscrew & pull out, the only weird thing is the one odd connection on the passenger rear held in place with a clip.

  4. Hope you checked them for burrs aswell?

i dont get the point or rear braided lines as there is a rubber piece the goes in to a hard line on the caliper
