Morning all, A quick question if I may, my front passenger side tyre is wearing a lot quicker than the drivers side. I've had a new rack and TRE about 2 years ago, and havent really noticed any other symptoms apart from the increased rate of wear on the passenger side front. Of course I will get the car checked out from my local suspension specialist, but cant dothis till the weekend. So could anyone hazard a guess on what could be causing the one tyre to wear so quickly. its down to about 20% whereas the drivers side is more like 70% tread left? Many Thanks Munish
hmmm took it to a garage yesterday, and the guy didn't even put it on the ramp, he just looked at the tyre wear and also said that it was due to hard/fast cornering.... But this is really strange as I thiink I drive like a granny, the cars never been on track, I'd hate t think what the state of the tyres would be if I did track it....
He didn't even put it on the ramp ! Take it to a proper garage mate Get the tracking done and keep an eye on it Does the car drive in a straight line ? I suspect not with uneven tyre wear Sounds like your tracking is out
Cheers John.C will take it to a proper place on Saturday Morning. I was running Vred Sessantas all round, My rears are still very fresh, but I was thinking of going back to Michelins, would I be ok to run the Michys on the back and move my old rears to the front to maximise on their usage? I would hate to replace all four in one go as the rears are pratically new, still got the wee bobbles on the side of the tyres. The car does tend to go left, especially on uneven surfaces....
Just a quick update, took the car to a proper alignment place, they Aligned the car using a hunter machine and it drives absolutely spot on now. If anyone needs a good alignment centre round West London then look no further than Hounslow tyres on Ivy lane. Raffa (the owner) is a top geezer and very knowledgeable about everything to do with tyres, suspension and steering.
