Headlamp Leveling

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by l££, Dec 22, 2014.

  1. So tonight I realised my n/s headlamp wasn't adjusting when I switched them on.
It also flickered a few times before settling down.
I know there is a leveling 'box' located around the n/s front wheel arc, and also one near the rear n/s wheel arc. But I'm not sure which one controls the n/s headlight? Can anyone confirm before I decide to have a route around?

I just had a new handbrake cable fitted last week to the n/s, so my instinct would tell me it is the rear fitting that has been disturbed. My other question would be, would this have caused the flickering in the bulb at start up?

Last thing I need is a bloody Xenon to go just before christmas :worried:

    Cheers for any help.

  2. Thought I would update this as it quite bizarrely started working again on its own.

The headlamp does have condensation in, which would indicate the seal is broken somewhere, but my guess is the headlamp levelling motor may have froze in the very cold weather and then started to work again.

Still means I need to investigate the seal, but thankfully at the moment it doesn't look like anything else is damaged.
