Yesh I thought about painting the box.... but once it's all back together you hardly see it. And it's an arse to move around!
Don't paint anything on the engine or box You just chip it off when you have to work on it and end up taking twice as long to repair anything as your pussy footing around your shiny painted parts I've worked in motorsport development. get it built. Get it in Get it used no bullsh
So this happened... Then this... I managed to fit the engine, loom, coolant system, boost pipes etc. in 6hrs - Pretty stoked! The time had finally come.. Cranked the engine over without the spark plugs / fuel, to establish oil pressure. Connected the injectors, fitted plugs and coils.. Nervously got in the drivers seat, pressed the clutch and pressed START. The engine fired up straight away, lovely smooth tick over and 5.0BAR of oil pressure! Merry Christmas. https://vimeo.com/149515626
Great stuff So is that just under 2years for the build? Bet you can't wait to get it on the road and mapped, I might have missed it in the thread but what turbo are you using? I think think any meg would be happy tucked in the corner of micks workshop
The actual engine build / time off the road was 3 months. I started gathering parts 2yrs ago, then bought a house... So the project was moth balled!
