Bought a set of 245/40/18 dz03g for the 250, fitting brembo OE brake pads and changing oil and brake fluid too for motul race stuff.. Can't wait to hit the track... Aiming to get a sub 7:50 lap time not sure how achievable this is going to be because of how busy it's going to be!! Lol
I've had CL RC5+ and am now on RC6 both are fantastic. After going RC6 I'd never buy anything else. No fade, no deposits. I'd give you one lap and the OE pads will be cooked.
Not my first time mate but you are correct, too many noobs have a megane 5 mins and end up driving beyond there limits and crashing don't they lol
Yeah that's what I was thinking, I did a 45 min race at brands gp in my Clio 200 race car on OE pads and they didn't cook...
I'm not being funny Dru, but I'm sure you know what your doing if your doing 8.12 min laps in an R26 mate. Their are places where you can get pads from over their if you need them
Anyone who has driven the MK3 properly will agree the OE pads are shite. I also had a Clio 200 which never cooked the OE pads even at the ring. I didn't do the ring in the Megane on OE pads, I cooked them in one session at knockhill so didn't take the chance of them ruining my trip over. Your choice but just a bit of advice. There's probably a reason no one local at the ring with a Megane runs OE pads. Plus the Megane weighs a bit more than a little Clio.
which is why the discs and pads are a lot bigger, yes I agree that better pads will be safer and perform better though but everyone knows that
More stopping power = more heat, and the OE pads can't cope. Not worth the gamble when pressing on really.
I did a couple of trackdays and a trip to the ring on the OE pads. I can't imagine you'll have any issues with the pads at the ring (that's not to say there aren't better pads for that use though!). There are obviously better pads for trackdays but you're more likely to have problems with the OE pads at shorter tracks with a few hard braking areas in succession (Llandow is my local and very hard on the brakes). I used CL5+ on mine, which were fantastic, but I can't recommend them as the friction material came away from the backing and the squealed like hell on the road. Back to using the standard Ferrodo pads now for road use only, and with some better fluid they've been great. No complaints.
Yeah mate Iv got a scetchy very low 8 on film with a few yellow flags a traffic, I'll chuck it up later.
Haha yeah, and death threats Been getting lots of personal attacks on this site you are correct! People just jump on the bandwagon and think they can take an easy shot at me I guess.
There are a million videos of people driving worse in even less appropriate circumstances than that video, the problem (as someone who doesn't really give a shit either way to be honest) that probably bated the response you're getting is your own response to other peoples criticism. Alas, that is the world of the internet.
+1 Everyone becomes an expert when hiding behind a screen connected to the Internet, far too many people with little to no life outside of car forums/pages and their virtual friends, waiting around to have their dig and ride the bandwagon. Wasn't surprised to see the usual suspects on here waiting to pounce!
