225 Ghosting

  1. change my inner track ends and track at the weekend and got the car all tracked up.
I had to change these parts are the car was ghosting all over the road from the rack ends being foo barred!

Since getting the above done, i'm still getting the ghosting. any ideas on what to check now?

  2. Better call the ghostbusters!

No play in the lower swivel? Are your tyres low because I know mine wanders with the camber a bit more when the tyres get low.

  3. no play and nope :worried:

  4. There's no play in anything?

    Strange if there's no play.

  5. Does it move across the road cause the wheel doesn't centralise? That would be hub bearings

  6. Mate I just got new tie rod end and rack end due to the car wandering around the road.

When the parts were fitted and I got the car back it was actually worse!

I took the car back and they advised that the worn parts could have worn the tyre on the front badly. I put the front tyres on the rear and vice versa and hey presto! .... 100% fixed.

  7. My lower swivel is gone, it knocks and I find it drifting towards to kerb its very odd. I would double check them if I were you Jones. FYI they are 68 quid each not 180 odd which includes the hub assembly which you dont actually need.

  8. the bottom ball joint hasnt gone in either of the hubs.

anyone know of anyone in the london area that can have alook for me?

Mike woody woodford in staines doesnt wanna know, that all i know for a renault specialist over this way. Other than that, im traveling miles.

  9. Still no joy with this? There must be something wrong. Have you tried swapping wheels front to back?

  10. If not, you need to try this!

  11. There's rtec in Wimbledon.. I take it to a mates garage called swan autos in acton. Brian there has done all the work on my car and is a perfectionist.. And they're reasonably priced too.

Might be worth swapping the wheels first though..

You need to rotate the tyres first but really, a keen eye would be able to spot this as abnormal wear anyway.

  13. Mark Black sorted out the car. worst hub bearing he has ever seen. One hub bearing what's even a renault item. All sorted now tho

  14. I'm taking mine to him for the same reason.
The car feels vague which is tolerable then occasionally the camber in the road will steer the car of its own accord, which is intolerable.

  15. exactly what i had
