Has anyone changed one on a 250? Thinking of upgrading my non diff to one with a diff and was wondering how much works involved.
Hi Jimmy, I just had this done a month ago! First off, you simply have to do it as it transforms the car. The corner exit grip in both wet and dry is massive. I am not kidding when I say I could not own another powerful fwd car again unless it has a diff. As for the work involved, it's a fair bit, but doable by someone that knows their stuff. Renault state 11hrs to change it and my local garage wanted £600 in labour as a result, as did a couple of others. However I went with a trusted trader on here Mark Black at Midlands Renault Specialist who changed it in 4hrs flat and as a result a damned sight cheaper than £600!! Definitely need to know your stuff though and its a 2 man job which personally I don't think is doable without proper lifts. Hope that helps? Nath.
